Enrolments

Enrolments for Prep to Year 6

We are delighted that you are considering enrolling your son/daughter at Geebung State School.

Geebung State School has an open catchment so we are able to take students from outside our catchment area.

Prep Enrolments

To determine if your child can commence their prep year, use the prep ready reckoner calculator.

At Geebung State School we offer Connect - a Prep Transition Program for students enrolled for the following year’s Prep class at our school.  This is a great opportunity for your child to prepare for transition to primary school and meet some new friends who will be in their year level.

Read Prep open day and school tour (pdf, 1026KB)

and Connect - Transition to Prep (pdf, 784KB)

for dates in term 3 and 4 of the year prior to starting Prep.

Enrolment Process

School Visit/Open Days

Our Prep Information Session provides new and prospective parents the opportunity to learn about what Geebung State School has to offer.  This takes place in Term 2 each year.

To enrol your child at Geebung State School follow these easy steps:

 Step 1 Enrolment application

Complete the Department’s Student Enrolment form 2017 (PDF, 336KB) for each child.  This may be downloaded or collected from the school office.

Complete all permission forms for each child.  These may be downloaded or collected from the school office:

• Enrolment agreement (PDF,134KB)

 Step 2 enrolment interview

At Geebung State School, we value the opportunity to meet with new parents and their children which is why we request an enrolment interview.  It’s important that both parties get answers to the questions they may have in regard to enrolment in our school.  It is the critical starting point for the home-school relationship that supports your child in their developing education to ensure their academic, social and emotional success.

Phone or email the school to make an appointment for an enrolment interview with a member of our Administration team.

Attend the interview at the school with your child or children.  Also bring along each child’s birth certificate, and any other information that you may think if relevant e.g. previous report cards, visa documentation or medical reports.

Please note there will be a screening assessment in November.  We will contact you once online booking becomes available.

 Step 3 important information

Read these important documents to learn more about our school policies and procedures:

• School handbook (PDF, 661KB)
