Welcome to Geebung State School’s website.
Geebung State School is located on the Corner of Newman and Ellison Roads in the northern Brisbane suburb of Geebung. It is approximately 11kms from the city.
Geebung State School provides education for students from Prep to Year Seven and has a Special Education Program mainly to support students with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Impairment or Speech Language Impairment.
The education programs offered throughout the school aim to develop in students the enthusiasm and motivation to be a life long learner and focus on academic as well as social, emotional and physical development. Students are encouraged to be responsible and active members of the school community, learning skills which they can transfer to the next stages in their lives as responsible and active members of society. We encourage each child to be proud of their efforts and to reflect on their learning, behaviour, efforts and future goals.
The diverse range of experience, skills and expertise of our staff members provides opportunities for students and staff to enjoy learning together. The quality integrated education programs offered to students also include access to Information and Communication Technologies in their classrooms, in the Computer Lab, and in the library.
Opportunities for students to learn outside the classroom environment are included in the educational experiences offered. Excursions and Camps are organised to support and enhance learning activities, and students also have the opportunity to be involved in extra-curricula activities such as:

  • Junior and Senior Choirs
  • Annual School Musical
  • Instrumental Music Programs
  • Interschool Sporting Programs
  • Art Group
  • Swimming Club
  • Outside School Hours Care
  • Vacation Care
  • Tennis Coaching

The School’s Responsible Behaviour Plan for Students, Staff and Parents, strengthens our beliefs that interacting appropriately with others builds respect, tolerance and understanding.
We encourage the involvement of parents / carers in school life and are fortunate in that we have a supportive P and C Association and community whose assistance and support is greatly appreciated.
I am proud of our school and the achievements of our students, staff and community members.
Thankyou for visiting the website. I trust that it has given you an insight into our school. If I can be of further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours sincerely
Jayne Buchanan
Principal
